4 “To Dos” That Build Your Future With God

God has more resources than you could ever use. To never see them happen for you is foolish. What you need, He has. Some people live their entire lives and never experience the things He wants to provide.

My wife Libby had a small group where a woman had been told by physicians that she would never have a child. In spite of the medical report, she and her husband prayed regularly. Not immediately, but eventually she had a child… the “joy of her life” she says. (I have seen this miracle with 4 different couples.)

God has resources.  How to get those resources does not have to be religious. People think rules and rituals are what please Him. They don’t.  It is faith that pleases Him.

[Hebrews 11:6] And without faith it is impossible to please Him

So how do you do that?

1. Believe when you do not see.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” [Hebrews 11:1 NASB].

When you act as though what God says in the Bible is true, you are acting in faith. Faith pleases Him.

2. Obey when you do not understand.

[Hebrews 11:8] “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

When you clearly understand God wants you to do something, but it does not make sense, Do It. My wife and I moved to a city we knew nothing about to plant a church. It did not make sense. But He has blessed it powerfully

3. Give big even when you are needy.

God has more resources than Bill Gates and Donald Trump combined. (2 Corinthians 8:2)”… that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality. For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord.” These Christians gave generously when they had big needs of their own. (2 Corinthians 9:6) “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”

4. Persist when you do not feel like it.

Romans 4:20 “…yet, with respect to the promise of God, he (Abraham) did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God.”

Abraham trusted God for a son for more than 25 years. All while it was impossible for his wife to be pregnant.  No one likes a quitter, but trusting God when you can’t see results, finds favor with God. Persist long  past what is comfortable.

Faith pleases the One who owns everything, the One who has all wisdom.
