Imagine that you learned a secret so valuable that if people found out it would change their lives forever. Imagine that when you discovered this secret, you became a different person. All of the sudden you had access to incredible resources. Immediately, you were connected to others in a way you never thought possible. You found out that your past mistakes were wiped away, and you were given fresh strength to continue your life. Once you began to live out this secret, even your character began to improve. That would be awesome, right?
Now imagine what you would do with that secret. Would you want others to discover it? Would you tell others, or would you keep it to yourself?
If you don't know the secret I'm talking about, it's the good news about Jesus. God is a righteous God, and as such, He must deal with sin. In the Old Testament, if someone sinned (disobeyed God) they had to sacrifice an innocent animal to pay for their sins. People had the law to show them where they failed, and as hard as they tried, they were constantly in trouble. God sent Jesus to die on the cross so that His blood would cover all sins. Now instead of having to sacrifice animals when we sin, all we have to do is turn to Jesus. The Bible tells us, "for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Salvation is a great gift, but God has much more than that for you. Jesus said, "I have come to give you life - life abundant." God has plans to bless us when we come to Him. He also adopts us into His family (Romans 8:15). Let that sink in. The Creator of the UNIVERSE is your father! You can boldly approach the throne of grace and ask for help whenever you need it!
If you didn't know this secret, take this time to pray and ask God to forgive you and be the Lord of your life. If you did know this, don't keep it to yourself. Tell others about the good news of Jesus!
