Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. [James 1:2-4]
Different trials in your life are meant by God to produce Endurance. What??? No, I do not want any more trials in my life. It is not fair. It seems unfair that our friends’ baby died, that my mother’s life was cut short, that my husband lost his good job.
But the Bible says you have to be cheerful in a trial….and ” count it all joy..”
Trials don’t make you strong. They may hurt you. But being joyful in a trial produces something. That thing you wish you had more of. It is called “endurance.” It is the practice of trusting God joyfully when life stinks. That will change you when you are being “tested.” Being cheerful, knowing God is ultimately in control, is how you pass the test.
Endurance brings a reward with it. As we have watched our friends trust the Lord through hard times with good attitudes, not quitting church, not fighting with everyone, not turning away from God, we have watched them grow into mature Christians. This thing called endurance brings something with it. What we say we need. People think if they win the lottery, they get everything. That isn’t so. But to be the type of person you really want to be, you will need the fruit of Endurance. The Bible says if you get endurance, you will lack nothing. So hold on during that trial you are going through and see God change you into the man or woman you always wanted to be-peaceful, trusting, wise, strong in faith, and someone who can be respected and honored.
Get Endurance see yourself grow!!
